What is an agentic AI company?
An agentic AI company builds AI that can plan tasks and take actions across tools, rather than only produce chat replies. Its agents connect reasoning with execution, using business applications to carry out work within defined permissions.
For a buyer, the key distinction is between an answer and a completed task. A chatbot might explain how to update a customer record. Assess whether an agent can perform the authorised update, handle missing information and leave a record of what happened. These are evaluation requirements, not capabilities to assume every provider offers.
The agentic AI Malaysia market includes agent platforms, customer conversation tools, application builders and underlying models. These categories serve different needs. Our guide to agentic AI Malaysia explains the concept before you compare suppliers.
Which providers are included?
This agentic AI companies list is a selection grouped by type, not a ranking. It includes companies that offer AI agents, build relevant business AI applications, or provide a Malaysian model foundation that agents can build on. Company details were checked on 6 October 2026.
The groups separate Malaysian providers, Malaysian AI foundations, regional providers with a Malaysian office, and global agentic AI platforms available to Malaysian businesses. Inclusion does not establish suitability for a particular workflow, local data hosting or compliance.
Each provider describes its own offering. Mindhive builds AI applications; it is not a verified dedicated agent platform. YTL AI Labs and ILMU are model foundations, not dedicated agent companies. AITG (our company) is the publisher's own company.
Malaysian agentic AI companies and application builders
Malaysian providers offer different starting points. AITG describes a sovereign agentic AI platform, Respond.io focuses on customer conversations, and Mindhive builds business AI applications. These offerings are not interchangeable.
- AITG (our company): Describes itself as Malaysia's sovereign agentic AI company, building AI agents, the Teragrid Platform and Teragrid Agent from its Penang headquarters. Teragrid (our product) is an enterprise AI agent platform with multi-tenant isolation and sovereign SEA hosting, for BFSI, healthcare, manufacturing and government.
- Respond.io: A Kuala Lumpur-headquartered AI-powered customer conversation platform with AI Agents. It brings WhatsApp, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook into a team inbox.
- Mindhive: Based in Shah Alam, Selangor, it builds AI applications for businesses. It describes operational cost efficiency and better decisions as its focus. Ask it to demonstrate the planning, tool use and execution your agent workflow requires.
Malaysian AI foundations: YTL AI Labs and ILMU
YTL AI Labs and ILMU are model/platform foundations, not dedicated agent companies. ILMU describes itself as Malaysia's own large language model. It is multimodal and built and operated entirely in Malaysia. The ILMU-Nemo models were developed in collaboration with NVIDIA.
A model can support an agent, but it is not the complete agent system. Establish how the solution plans work, accesses tools, receives permissions and records actions. Ask the implementation provider which parts come from the model and which come from the surrounding application.
This distinction matters when comparing proposals. Choosing a Malaysian model foundation does not, by itself, answer questions about an application's integrations, approval process or complete data path. Review the whole system rather than assuming the model supplies every operational control.
Regional option with a Malaysian office: SleekFlow
SleekFlow describes its offering as an AI omnichannel messaging suite with AI agents. Its messaging channels include WhatsApp, Instagram and SMS, and its offices include Malaysia. It is a regional provider, not a Malaysian-headquartered company.
It is an option to examine when customer messaging is the starting point for an agent project. Ask for a demonstration using your actual conversation types and the actions you want the agent to take. Separate message handling from work that must happen in another business application.
A Malaysian office does not establish where customer data is stored or which support arrangements apply to your contract. Confirm these details directly. Ask how a conversation reaches a human, how permissions are controlled and how the workflow handles incomplete or conflicting customer information.
Comparison of local, regional and global options
The comparison below separates providers by category. The 'Good fit for' column suggests where to begin an evaluation. It is not an endorsement or a claim that a provider meets every requirement. Compare a demonstrated workflow with your acceptance criteria.
Global platforms in this selection include Salesforce Agentforce, ServiceNow AI Agents, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Google Gemini Enterprise, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, IBM watsonx Orchestrate and Kore.ai. Their product descriptions differ in detail. Where only a product name is available, do not assume additional capabilities.
For global entries, 'Based' identifies the group rather than a headquarters location. Availability to Malaysian businesses does not establish Malaysian hosting or local support. Ask each provider to confirm the deployment, contract and service arrangements for your implementation.

How to evaluate actions, approvals and data controls
When evaluating an agentic AI company, Malaysia buyers should start with the work, not the product label. Define a task, its permitted actions and the point at which a person must approve the next step. Ask the provider to demonstrate successful execution and failure handling.
- Actions: Which records can the agent read, create or change? Can it complete the task across the required tools?
- Approvals: Which actions require human approval? Can you restrict permissions by task and user?
- Audit trail: Can you inspect the instructions, tool calls, changes, errors and approvals?
- Data location and PDPA: Where are prompts, files, logs and backups processed or stored? What contractual responsibilities apply?
- Integrations: Are your required applications supported in the implementation? Ask how access is authenticated, maintained and revoked.
How to compare cost models and support in Malaysia
Request a proposal tied to a defined workflow. Ask what the cost model includes and what is charged separately. Check model usage, computer usage, implementation, integrations, maintenance and human support. Do not assume a subscription covers every part of running an agent.
For support in Malaysia, confirm the communication channels, escalation route and contractual response commitments. Ask who owns integration failures and who maintains the workflow when a connected application changes. A local address alone does not answer these questions.
Compare proposals against the same task and acceptance criteria. Assess successful completion, exceptions, human review and ongoing administration. For a broader procurement checklist, read how to choose an AI company in Malaysia. The aim is a workable operating arrangement, not simply access to an AI model.
What is the next step after shortlisting providers?
Choose a bounded workflow and document its inputs, required actions, approval points and expected output. Give each shortlisted provider the same requirements. Ask for evidence of completed work, not only a fluent explanation of what an agent could do.
Terabot (our product), by AITG, is a next step for businesses exploring AI agents that do the work. Its digital workers each receive their own computer, a private virtual machine. They work in applications a team already uses, including CRM, email, spreadsheets and web apps. It is in private preview; businesses can request an invitation.
Keep a wider shortlist if your requirements extend beyond agents. Our top AI companies in Malaysia guide covers the broader category. Choose based on demonstrated task fit and confirmed operating controls, rather than treating this grouped selection as a league table.
Key takeaways
- This is a selection grouped by type, not a ranking of providers.
- Distinguish complete agent systems from AI application builders and model foundations.
- Assess actions, approvals, audit trails, data handling and integrations through a demonstration.
- Confirm cost scope, deployment location and support arrangements before procurement.
- AITG and its products are the publisher's own offerings.
