Which AI tool should a Malaysian SME choose?
Pick the assistant that lives where your team already works. If your company runs on Gmail, Google Drive and Google Meet, Gemini inside Google Workspace adds AI to tools people use every day without a new login. If you run on Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot does the same for the Microsoft world. ChatGPT and Claude are strong standalone assistants for writing, research, analysis and long documents, and many teams use one of them alongside their office suite. Compare them on your own tasks: give each the same three jobs your staff do every week, such as drafting a quotation email, summarising a long contract, and analysing a sales spreadsheet, and see which saves the most time. Check the data terms for business plans, including whether your content is used for training, and remember that every seat is a monthly cost per person.

What should you check before buying AI tools for business?
- Whether business data is excluded from model training on the plan you buy.
- Admin controls: who can use it, and what it can access.
- The real monthly total for all the seats you need, with tax.
- Where data is processed, and your duties under the PDPA.
- Whether the job you want automated needs an assistant or an agent.
